Multidisciplinary Artist. Writer of fiction, essays, and drama; blogger, and I’ve recently taken up printmaking to tell visual stories. Founding contributor to Pendemic.ie – writing in response to Covid-19. Happy recipient of BIA and Literature and Visual Arts awards from the Arts Council.
I’ll be using this site mainly to journal through my creative pursuits over the next few years. I’ll be sharing my successes, failures, muses, and motivations.
I’ve recently taken up printmaking. In 2021-22, I did a part-time course at Gorey School of Art and was smitten. Since then, I have secured some Arts Council Funding to continue a project I started entitled ‘It doesn’t go away’. I’ll be sharing my work here on blog/printmaking and also on Instagram.
Phyllis Styne is my (retired) art writing alter ego. Those posts have been imported from WTFisArt.com, a site I built as part of a collective from the Class of 2019 Art Writing & Critical Thinking. I won’t be writing any more long-form reviews but will share my outings and musings on Instagram. I’ve also included my posts on Pendemic.ie and they are all here.
