Testing Fabrics

I realise I wasted a whole lot of time cutting out the lips and fitting in the zips just to see if it looked like a mouth when I was only really testing one material – leatherette.

A far better use of my time would be to prepare a swatch of a variety of materials and put the through the press to see how they turn out. Then I can keep them on file for future projects. This is something I should do regularly. So here is the plate.

So the question is, which material best matches a pair of lips. Hmmmm.
